Enjoy abundant nature, as you explore the Celestun Flamingo sanctuary on Mexico's Gulf coast, get a closer look at today's Maya people as you share a yucatecan-style lunch, visit a local Maya straw hat weaving family and journey back in time visiting sites of greatest Maya splendor, such as Oxkintok, Uxmal, Kabah and the Lol-tun caves.

Departures every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month.

Tour's Schedule

  • Day 1: Arrival and transfer to beach front hotel Eco Paraiso Xixim, on the west coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Dinner.
  • Day 2: Early breakfast and departure for a boat tour of the Celestun Estuary. Birdwatching including a visit to the world's largest colony of pink flamingoes. Seafood lunch. Afternoon free to enjoy the beach. Dinner at hotel Eco Paraiso.
  • Day 3: Breakfast and departure for the small village of Kuch Holoch, where we will be visiting a family for a straw hats weaving demonstration; it is a typical town located passing by Becal near Halacho. Continue on to the ruins of Oxkintok and its labyrinth. Overnight at Hotel Hacienda Uxmal.
  • Day 4: Breakfast followed by visits to the archaeological sites of Uxmal, Kabah and the Lol-tún caves, with opportunity to observe birds in the surroundings. Lunch at Lol-tún. Transfer to Merida. Overnight at the Hotel Casa del Balam. Dinner.
  • Day 5: Breakfast and morning free. Airport transfer.
